I'm very excited to announce the upcoming publication of my new novel, The Underwood.
Description:
A group of friends make a documentary about “the Bermuda Triangle of the woods,” deep in the Canadian wilderness. Their film is released and becomes a worldwide sensation.
But something is wrong.
Occurrences of paranormal activity are being reported. The Underwood is taking form. Is the entire planet in jeopardy? Can it be stopped?
The Underwood is being published by Thunderstorm Books as a limited edition deluxe hardcover of only 200 copies, and will cost $125 US. It’s kinda pricey, I know, but these deluxe hardcovers are like the sports cars of books. They're super fancy editions, made with the finest materials and full of exciting bonus features.
If you’re interested in purchasing The Underwood, here are some more deets about the book:
7×10 oversized trim in bonded leather with specialty endsheets.
Introduction by Gemma Files
Signed by Ian Rogers and Gemma Files
Cover art by Ebrahel Lurci
3 full color interiors by Ebrahel Lurci
ETA: May 2025.
I had a blast writing this book, and I’m indebted to Gemma Files for her incredible introduction, Ebrahel Lurci for his darkly beautiful artwork, and to Paul Goblirsch at Thunderstorm for publishing it.
A fun little Easter egg: Paul Tremblay mentioned me and my book Every House Is Haunted in his breakout horror novel A Head Full of Ghosts. I finally got to return the favour in The Underwood. I hope you like it, Paul!
The Twisted Retreat edition of Every House Is Haunted that went out to book box subscribers last November is now available to the general public. There were approximately 700 copies in the original print run, and they sold out almost immediately. There are fewer copies for this second print run (around 200) and they’re sure to go fast, so don’t delay if you want a copy.
This edition includes the following features:
A redesigned dust jacket with illustrations by Lisa Errico (with foiling and gloss)
Reverse dust jacket artwork
Hardcover illustrations by Azura Arts
Exclusive end papers and stenciled edges
Three bonus stories that have never before been published -- over 30,000 words of new content
Signed by the author (me!)
I had a new short story published back in January. It was called “Lost You Again” and appeared in The Dark, which is one of my favourite horror mags. The best part is you can read it for free online.
In closing, I recently mentioned on social media that I have some very big publishing news. There are, in fact, six pieces of news that I’ve been waiting to share. The announcement of The Underwood and the new print run of the special edition of Every House Is Haunted are only two of them, and the biggest piece of news is still to come.
Stay tuned!
Will there be a trade edition of Underwood?
